Do I have to buy a tanning lotion to increase my tan at a tanning salon, or can I buy one at a drug store?
Posted by Sonni in: buy a tanning salonI’ve heard and seen a lot of lotions that help increase your tan that are sold at the tanning salon, are really expensive, and I’m not going to pay that. I haven’t checked out yet if any drug store near me has a lotion that you can put on before going outside or after you go outside (or tanning bed) to increase your tan, but I don’t think they will. Have you ever bought a good tan increaser from a drug store near you? or do you have to pay a lot at the tanning salons. I’m not asking about self tanners or bronzers, but something to increase the colour from the uva uvb rays after or before, or both.
I used to work at a tanning salon and there really is a difference between drugstore lotions and the kinda you get in the salons. The ones made specifically for the salons have more ingrediants in them that are better for your skin, since they are made by people who are familiar with the tanning beds. The ones in the drugstores work alright, but you will definitely get better results from something within the salon, even if it is the least expensive lotion there. Whatever kind you get though don’t leave in your car because then it becomes watery and since they are heat activated it won’t work near as well!

dont go on tanning beds, they are bad like cigarettes!!!!!! the unnatural light and chemicals to make u tan fast and long can give u cancer.
use spray on tans or lotions that when u rub it in, u will get tanner in days. u can find them in drug stores and surf shops

hey hun.. ok so i go tanning all the time.. and i have to tell you that a lot of the tanning lotions you buy at drug stores have oil in them, and stuff that the tanning salon wont let you use in their beds.. they can damage them. And if you do decide to use them, they will know you did when you leave.. i have even been to places that tell you on the form you sign, they have the right to term the contract if you use those kinds of tanning lotions on their beds.. the best thing i can tell you is to just use regular lotion with no SPF in it.. it will work… i buy my tanning lotion at the tanning place.. but it lasts for like 5 monthes… soo the 50 bucks is worth it.

You can get some of the same stuff at wal-mart that is at the salon, and it does just the same. I worked a gym/tanning salon and I got use the tanning bed for free and the stuff form walmart worked just as well. I would just remember to use regular lotion after rite after tanning it really brings out you tan.

Okayyy so I just spent a half hour looking at all the tanning lotions on ebay. It looks like there is one vendor in particular that sells a lot of indoor tanning lotions. If you type in indoor tanning lotion, search for only buy it now items, and do lowest price first you find 8oz bottles of indoor tanning lotions just as good as salon stuff for 8 bucks no shipping. Right now too they have a buy 3 get one free deal. Dunno if thats a regular thing but I would never buy tanning lotion at the salon. Its a freakin rip off… especially when you can get the same stuff online for that cheap^^^^^
