I just started tanning at the local salon but there prices for tanning lotion is a little ridiculous. I went to walmart and bought a bottle of INDOOR tanning lotion. it says that its safe to use in the tanning bed but im still a little freaked! Anyone know what I should do?

No, its against the law! And you call others idiots. LOL!

Here is a horrific fact!

Most businesses fail!(even tanning salons!)
Why?

The majority of new entrepeneurs don't really understand the business they jump into. And when they scramble after realizing they've overspent, or underestimated the industry, it's simply too late!

Unfortunately, many new owners simply don't where to find this insider knowledge and won't succeed in today's tanning business environment. Too many hard working entrepeneurs are losing their money, and their dreams, due to a lack of this specific information.

Yeah! it’s totally fine! I do it all the time. At the salon they tell you not to use them for one reason only…so they can make money off their own ridiculously priced tanning lotion. I honestly think the only difference from the lotion at a regular store then from a salon is that the one from a salon works faster to bring your tan out BUT don’t quote me on that because I have never used the lotion from a salon. I refuse to pay that high price! Hope this helps. :)

Yes, you can use it. Don’t let the salon know though. They will tell you in ruins their beds. It does not however. They just want you to buy their $60 bottle of lotion. They work on commission.

    Why use lotion?

The only safe lotion is one that stops tanning, so no need to use tanning salon.

If you insist on damaging your skin by tanning, don’t try to fool yourself into believing any lotion is going to stop damage which increases future skin cancer risk.

No. It’s not fine. The regular lotions to not react as well to the UV bulbs. That’s why they manufacture indoor tanning lotions versus outdoor tanning lotions. And the outdoor tanning lotions are bad for the acrylics…it makes them crack and discolors them (the lotion gets into the cracks and it cant get out and the uv light causes discoloration and further cracks the acrylics)).

  • Buying an indoor tanning lotion may offer a wider variety of choice when purchasing online. Many tanning salons have special arrangements for specific brands of tanning lotion.

How convenient that only the lotions from walmart are bad for the acrylics. I suppose the lotions you buy, (which you buy for wholesale and then double the price)are superior and “smart” enough to not discolor the acrylic with their equally brown color. And what about australian gold? It’s ok to buy it from you, but not the exact same thing at walmart? If you take a salon bottle and walmart bottle, they have the same basic ingredients. The only downside to walmart lotions is the amount of DHA in them. I’d much rather pay $8 and have orange hands that i can wash off than $50 for a supre of swedish beauty lotion, when in the end, they are the same!
