I have tried a regular tanning lotion, and a chocolate bronzer, and neither of them left me with any difference in skin. I started at 6, then went to 8 minutes, and I am thinking about going right to 12, because i haven’t seen any difference or reaction with skin color or burning.

Switch lotions and try a higher intensity tanning bed. Preferably a high pressure tanning bed. It’s more expensive, but the results are will be awesome. Also, your salon…it’s possible that their bulbs are old, and the tanning bed you are going in may be a lower quality bed.

Go in a high pressure bed for a few minutes, maybe more depending on your skin type. Do about 3 or 4 sessions. After you do the high pressure bed, in couple of days do a Mystic Tan at level 2 to compliment your tan.

Jergens Natural Glow works very very well. I have red hair and have pale skin, pasty even .. lol. I use Jergens Natural Glow and it looks very natural. It is lotion that you put on (I use it at night) everyday and it keeps a natural look. The results are not instant, it builds or darkens over a few days.

It takes a 2 or 3 weeks before you start getting a nice base tan. Just stay commited and go every second day and go up by two minutes each time until you’ve reached the beds max. I don’t particularily like bronzers, so I’m using Shine by Designer Skin, and it works pretty well. If you want bronzers, you should ask the people at your salon for advice. You could also try a higher powered bed, and you could alternate between beds.

Go to 10..If you increase your time too quickly you will burn and that will slow down your tan process because it will kill off the top two layers of your skin.
Use a lotion with an accelerator in it and a bronzer, you have to spend money though to get a good tan, i know it sucks, but good lotions cost anywhere from $30-$70
