i work next to a tanning salon and they do very well. i am interested in opening up my own tanning salon based on the franchise name of a local tanning salon. they already have 11 salons open in my area. i have a location in mind, i am going to rent a builiding, but how much money would i need altogeather to get the salon up and running?
and if anyone else in the tanning buisness, is there a lot of work involved, it seems pretty easy.

you are going to need the rent for the building. as many tanning beds as u can afford. i would guess they run about $10,000 each. there are many varieties (lay down, stand up, different light settings). the better they are the more expensive they are. you will need stock of lotions, goggles, and stickers (that are available for sale). you will need a register and training on how to use it. you will need staffing (cleaners, laundry, telephone, booking appts, etc). you will need cleaning supplies for the beds (there are special sanitizing solutions to buy). you will need alot of towels (at least 75). you would need a washing machine/dryer on location to sanitize the towels (you might have to buy special laundry soaps to do so). you will need to be trained in spray on tanning and cocktail tanning. you will also need to be trained in tanning for beginners. there are special recommendations due to different skin types.

Hiring or Firing?
