I would like to open a tanning salon in Toronto, Ont. How do I start that? Any tips or suggestions?

Get your Tanning license then go down and get your Store license, Look into product, Ask any local Tanning salon what to expect. Check to see how much tanning lotion would cost and how much you would have to mark it up. Plus Light bulbs and tanning beds, Make sure you know about tanning, and how to change out light bulbs. Think about what days you would be open for how long. You basically need a basic business plan. Don’t for get about marketing. Look to see what your budget is. If you need a loan make sure you have a good Business plan to show the banker. I’ve taken a business class and this is what it taught us. Also don’t for get about legal matters. Like if you go tanning you have to warn your customers of possible dangers. If you don’t you are liable. For instants. Macdonald’s coffee was so hot a old lady accidentally spill some on her and had to get skin graphed, and she sued because on the coffee cup it didn’t say Warning this cup of coffee is hot!, but in a tanning bed instant lets say a women was pregnant and its her first time tanning but you can’t tell that she pregnant and she goes in and tans and her baby gets cooked you could be liable for not telling her that. Thats why its important to have them feel out a sheet or sign up, because it won’t make you liable.
