i have a small painting service,im working out a deal with a tanning salon owner to paint a newly remolded side,well hes picked out 5.00 cans of premixed paint,,real dark colors,i was gone for three days and came back and he painted orande on sheetrock without primer,,it looks awfull,ive told him over and over to get primer before i cant paint but her wont.he had new doors and frames and im so afraid hes going to expect me to paint them without priming first,and also the sheet rock,im so frustrated at this point that im thinking about pulling out of the agreement,im meeting him in a hr and i dont really know how to go about telling him that i dont want to hal do anything with my name behind it,can someone please advise me on something nice to say to try to work this out..thanks

You might want to tell him why primer is so important, that it using less paint to get good coverage, increase the life of the paint and result in a more professional look. If you show him how using primer will save money and increase quality, he might be prepared to listen.

Usually when someone wants to skip a step like that they are trying to save time and money, and don’t understand that doing a poor quality job will cost them more in the end.
