Doesn't the sunless tanning lotions wash off after you shower?

Everytime I shower, won’t the lotion wash right off? How can the lotion gradually give you the tanned look if I shower everyday? Thanks for reading.
Once you apply the lotion and rub it in, and it has time to absorb, it is essentially like a ‘dye’ or stain for the skin (like wood stain). It colors the upper layers of the epidermis and after it absorbs it does not ‘wash’ off that easily. It fades as the outer layers of skin sloughs off cells and those cells are replaced from below with new, undyed cells.
Just follow the directions on the bottle and you’ll be fine.

no it won’t wash right off if you give it time to soak in. But it will exfoliate off, so its not a one-time deal. I have a "gradual lotion" one that you have to reapply once a week after you get it as dark as you want it. Be careful with them though, I’m sure you’ve heard the sunless tanner horror stories!

The only thing that washes off, is the kind that gives you instant color, the lotion is absorbed into your skin, if you re-apply each day, then every other day, you will have a great looking tan. So no, it won`t wash off. You can`t take a shower for a half a day or so, so apply it at night, or best is right AFTER you shower. This gives it more time to soak in.

the best way to get the most of a sunless tanner is jump in the shower and exfoliate really really good then apply the lotion. if you dont exfoliate afterwards it should last for about 3 showers.

You will want to wait a few hours (ask the tanning consultant what they suggest) before showering. The solution needs time to react with your skin to develop a nice, tan color.
