I’m thinking about owning a tanning salon but, my question is… How good is the money in profit?? I know not millions…however I do want to be comfortable.

If it’s not worth getting into, If you could own a small business what would it be? and why?

If I could own a small business I would open my own piercing and body jewelry shop since I would be able to be my own boss and not have to deal with drama all the time.

But I have a feeling that if you opened a tanning salon, you’d make a pretty good living off of it if you get a good location and clientele. I would also think about offering extra services and products (tanning salons in my area also do air brush tattoos, they sell weird colored hair dye, body jewelry, smoothies and whatnot and they have to make a lot if there are a dozen within a few blocks of each other)

Here is a horrific fact!

Most businesses fail!(even tanning salons!)
Why?

The majority of new entrepeneurs don't really understand the business they jump into. And when they scramble after realizing they've overspent, or underestimated the industry, it's simply too late!

Unfortunately, many new owners simply don't where to find this insider knowledge and won't succeed in today's tanning business environment. Too many hard working entrepeneurs are losing their money, and their dreams, due to a lack of this specific information.

Ive always thought that a tanning salon would be VERY lucrative. Think about it….they spend anywhere between 1,000-3,000 on each bed (depending on the type of bed) and they charge between 5 and 11 dollars per 20 minute session! The beds would pay for themselves pretty quickly then it would be all profit. Theres not much overhead in tanning salons….except electric bills I guess.

I think it’s a great business and very popular. Just be careful not to advise people that they won’t get cancer or it’s better than the sun. That is a huge lawsuit if someone tans at your salon and develps skin cancer.
